ATLAS: I-III
book launch
1 Sep 2024, 13:00–15:00
The exhibitions Circularis, Gib dein Bestes!, and Feels, explored an anachronistic worldview, challenging the conventional notion of time as linear and progressive. Across the three exhibitions, nature, historical artifacts from the museum’s collection, and emotive paintings created temporal collisions.
For the launch we served chilled flower tea homegrown by alchemist and farmer Lærke Lyhne (who also contributed a text to Circularis), author Jonas Eika performed a reading of a newly written text for Birke Gorm and art historian Michael Kjær introduced his thesis When angles come from below — notes on the history of cartography, unfolding key elements of the overarching exhibition title ATLAS.
The publications contain – besides richly illustrated exhibition documentation – newly commissioned texts by Michael Kjær, Lærke Lyhne, Nikolaj Schultz, Jeppe Ugelvig, and Mathias Danbolt, offering insightful perspectives on the three exhibitions and artists.
The books are edited by curator Rune Finseth and art educator Nina Marie Poulsen in collaboration with visual editor and designer Line-Gry Hørup.
